First of all I want to say hi to all my school friends. I miss you guys so much. Hope you are having lots of fun in your German classes. Well just to let you know I am not on a vacation I am tiling a square bathroom stall. It is so hard. We’ll see you soon.
Hi Epic I hope you guys are having a fun time at youth. I know I am. I tiled a whole bathroom stall. It was hard. Well I can’t wait to come back.

So today we went from a 1 star to a 2 star accommodations-we got toilet seats and shower curtains!!! Well we started with 60 bags on concrete we went to 41 and of today we are down to 20. Yes Kianna I am on concrete duty and Hans is a slave driver. I am shoveling and wheel barrel duty. Yes my muscles are screaming but in a good way. Today we went into town for supper and Jon would not let us translate the menu so we ordered blind. Miss you all lots.

Today was a long day; we fit in lots of difficult activities. There was frog burials which were rudely interrupted by Jon’s foot, tarantula photoshoots, synchronized digging, cookie breaks every 30 minutes after lunch… choosing food off of a Spanish menu sans translation, filling wheelbarrows as high as possible with dirt from the SECOND orphanage and surprise visits from scorpions. We all feel very accomplished and I hope that tomorrow will be at least half as successful as today. Thanks for the prayers. Even if my blogs don’t show it, we are really feeling them down here.

Sirva 5, it feels so good to be back for the 5th time. This year has already been such a great trip and I can say I do not miss my school or work, and I do not want to leave. The kids are wonderful and are definitely the best part of the trip. It turns out this cannot be the last sirva because they plan to put 10 orphanages eventually on Moses’ property with a second already starting. Ryan (who probably won’t read this but maybe someone can tell him what I am saying). All of the kids miss you Ryan, and when I got to the orphanage for the first time I saw a picture of us on some bulletin board. Bang Bang.

We had a great day today again! The team worked AMAZINGLY hard all day and we got a big concrete pad poured in the morning, most of the tiling ready for grouting, a bunch more painting and some ground dug up so that we can pour more cement! It was again a hot day….probably somewhere around 30 degrees C….but we won’t complain about that to all you Winnipegers. The team is doing fantastic…I am so proud and elated with their work ethic and their attitudes. They are also a ton of fun to be with. We had a chance to stay and play with the children for a couple of hours after work today and that was very meaningful. It was great to watch our team interact and communicate with the kids even without being able to speak the language. We then went for our traditional supper at our favorite restaurant called La Estacion….where I make everyone order off the menu without translation….always a lot of fun. We had a great day overall…and are so encouraged by those of you following along. I’ve had so many people tell me that the blog has been meaningful to them here. THANKS Riverwood and all others! It’s bedtime…we are all sore and tired….so off to bed we go. I’ve posted some pictures from today.
Until tomorrow, Dios les bendiga mucho.

P.S. if Ryan McNabb is reading this, all the kids are asking about you and remember you. We miss you tons on the trip.

Glad to hear the work is moving ahead and that there will likely be many more Sirva opportunities to come...wow, 10 new buildings!!! We'd better hire "Harriet's" sisters for future trips.

It is awesome to know that you are putting into action Christ's love for His children right now. From the clearing of land and the pouring of concrete to the gentle hug of an orphan you're representing the very best of Riverwood and reflecting Him who we all serve. Praying for your safe return and the effectivness of your mission. God bless, JW.
