Four more sleeps! Well actually 3 1/4 more....and we'll be waiting at the Winnipeg airport to catch our 6 AM flight to San Antonio....and our journey to Casa Hogar will begin. We had our final meeting as a team last night and we are so encouraged about what God is doing on our behalf. We have 23 Riverwood'ers who are excited about getting their hands dirty serving in Mexico. This past week we have seen more than $7500 come in support of our project....WOW GOD! What provision. We are so grateful for the generosity and for God's provision on our behalf. There are a few more details we are working to finish....but we are close to being ready to make our 6th trip back to Casa Hogar and continue the work that is there.
We look forward to being able to blog our journey this year. I will be attempting to add blog entries from my blackberry each day using text messaging and email. It will be a fairly cheap way to blog from the remote place we are. We really don't have any internet access, so hopefully it will work! I'm actually posting this blog from my blackberry to see if will actually work....and if you are reading this it has! So we welcome you all to join us on our journey and we will do our best to keep you up-to-date along the way.
We would love your prayers for our journey....please pray for:
1. Safety & health
2. Team unity
3. Lots of work to get done
4. The precious children at Casa Hogar
5. That our little baby due on Dec 4th would stay put in Kelly's (my wife's) tummy until I get home!
Thanks for your prayers and support. Feel free to comment as we will receive every comment via a text message to my phone when they are made. It will be very encouraging to the team to hear a quick little comment along the way!
Vaya con Dios!
