A great day....

Well....we are now all getting into bed and attempting to have a good sleep before a long day of travel tomorrow as we head into Mexico.  We have had a fantastic day in Denver....lots of fun...lots of supportive people....and a great day of team building.  We arrived in Denver and made our way to our hotel for around 3pm.  Some had a nap...some had a swim...and a few other adventurous people decided to walk to Walmart....discovering that what was promised to be a 20 minute walk turned into a 40 minute walk there....and then again back!

We had a great supper at Applebees and were treated very well by the restaurant.  They gave us a great deal and fed us well.  They were really supportive for the cause we are helping.  We then had a team meeting cramming 20 people into 1 hotel room.  The team is doing great and we are encouraged by how God is taking care of us.  We had a chance to read a few blog comments together and shared and prayed.

I ended my day by heading out to Walmart to pick up breakfast for us to have in the morning.  Chris & Sharlene ended up coming with me and we took a cab there.....the cab driver wasn't too thrilled as he had to travel a long way just to take us for a 6 minute car ride....so after we finished shopping, when we attempted to call for another cab we got the sinking feeling no one was going to be coming for us.  So we wondered what we should do...should we walk?  Should we ask someone for a ride?  Then Chris saw parked in the lot a limo with a driver cleaning out his car....so we told him our story and asked what he would charge to take us back to the hotel....  He was gracious and didn't charge too much.... and so there we were thinking to ourselves....this feels like an odd ending on our first day of a mission trip....riding home with
mood lighting and music blaring in a limo back to our four star hotel :-)  All for a budget price however.....rest assured.

The funny situations you find yourselves in on these trips....a much different reality will definitely hit tomorrow.

We look forward to meeting up with Art, Kirk and Joel and our luggage in San Antonio tomorrow.  Please pray hard as we all head across the border sometime late afternoon.  We would love for that to be a smooth crossing.  It will feel great to be back on Mexican soil tomorrow and we look forward to seeing the orphanage and the kids on Monday.

Well...goodnight from Denver.

What luck you have again, Jonathon Courtney! I'm not surprised at the limo ride! Traveling with you is always an adventure! (I would know...being your wife!)
Anyways, glad that you made it and are relaxing and preparing for the coming days ahead. Love you and pray for health and strength for both you and the team. Hi everyone! Have a great day today!

Hi All,
Wish I could have been there with you guys. It's too bad your flights got messed up as I know Hans was looking forward to being in Mexico for two church services this time & spending more time with the kids Sunday afternoon.
John be sure take pictures of Hans baking cookies with the kids as he said he wanted to that instead of pouring concrete. Franz your on your own. By the way Hans, Saturday morning by 8:15 I already was missing you as I had to pull two deer back to the truck without your strong back. Oh ya, tell Shelly to quit spreading rumers that I'm a lousy hunter.
Have a blast team.
