A long, hard, and great day!

Janessa, just to let you know your sister is doing great. You'd be
very proud...she's a riot. Nothing bad to say about the men on this
trip, but the women rock. I can honestly say I had a smile on my face
the whole day and these smart intelligent good looking women have
changed my way of thinking. I can't believe you shoot animals Rob.
I'm thinking of changing careers. I want to become a nurse and
moonlight as an indie rock band. I have to go now because we're
talking about how trucks destroy the environment. I've also changed
my portfolio to a different bank.

Hans Pamela Regier

hi mom,
I seem to be having all sorts of women trouble, they won't leave me
alone and today two women over 35 tried to kiss me. Any advice?
love spence

Hi Maren, Tiana, Anya, Aidan, Abigail & Ez. Your mom and auntie love
you very much. Miss you XOXO

Hey Kernaghan Family!
Greetings from the land of no snow!! LOL! Seriously, this is the best
weather - warm all day, but nothing over 25+....of course if I ever
get out of the tiling bathroom - it's become a joke here that the only
pictures of me are looking up out of a shower stall with a tile in my
hand! well, tomorrow I'll do some digging at the new site and pour
some floor areas - maybe get some last minute rays on my white arms!
Thanks so much to all of you for the blog entries humorous and
encouraging at the same time! We take Moses and his family out to
dinner tomorrow and will have a party for the kids on Sunday evening,
capping off an intensive time that has again seen a huge amount of
work accomplished as well as great relationship building! Looking
forward to seeing you all on Tuesday evening. Love Phil.

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to say to you all that I miss you very much and I can't
wait to get back to see all of you. I have been very lucky to get the
opportunity to work with such a great bunch of people on this trip.
Each and every person works extremely hard everyday. We have been
very fortunate to be able to get our fill of Joya Manzana after a long
days work. I don't know what we are going to do when we get back to
Canada to satisfy our fix. There are lots of great stories that have
taken place here and I"m sorry that I don't have time to tell all of
them to you right now. I will when I tell them to you when I get back
complete with animations. All for now. See you very soon.,

Love Dave

Well....Friday is now ending and we are all lying down for a very well
deserved sleep. This morning the crew poured the finishing touches on
our concrete pad & stairs for a path from the 1st to the 2nd floor.
Then they moved Harriet (the mixer) over to the new site and began
pouring the floors for the beginnings of the 1st floor there. We had
some incredible tilers & grouters who worked ALL day and so hard
finishing the bathroom and the remaining tile projects. We had Chris
and the whole paint crew going to town on finishing the paint inside
and painting the doors we installed on the first floor last year.
Mike continues to finish the doors and is doing and incredible job and
Joel is finishing the stucco all over the second floor. Art spent
some time digging out the floors of the new orphanage. The whole team
worked steady and hard right to 6:15 today and we packed up as it was
getting dark. We have seen so much progress....and we are so thrilled
to see the 2nd floor coming together.

Right from the beginning we knew that this would be our task this
year....completing all of the small jobs that remained to be done (and
some larger ones) to make the second floor inhabitable. What has
happened over the summer is that the few groups that come to work and
are putting all of their energy into the new building....which is
great....but our heart really is to see the 2nd floor brought to
completion and Cecy & Modesto (the caregivers) feel the same. They
want to see that happen and not get left forever being close to
finished. So...we have pushed ahead really hard to see this happen.

Today we took a break in the afternoon and headed up to the rooftop to
enjoy an ice cold (well actually luke warm) Coke out of a glass bottle
while admiring the mountains around us and just celebrating a great
week of working. We have such a great team of people who have dug
deep to get the work done.

We headed straight to supper from the worksite and then went to have
showers and get ready for a Friday night out. We headed to the town
square around 8:30 for Coca's, Joya's and nachos. We also all
gathered around the bench there for a few minutes to read the comments
from the blog....and again we felt SO encouraged from hearing from
home and about the people praying for us and cheering us on.

Tomorrow will be a day to push through as we need to accomplish much
but our bodies are pretty tired. Pray for strength for one more solid
day of work. We are also really excited as we will have some
Riverwood visitors this Sunday for church and to hang out with us for
the day. Andrew and Dana Willms will be meeting up with us on
Sunday. They moved to Mexico a couple of years ago and have made it
work to drive up for a few hours to see us and to see Casa Hogar. So
excited to see them.

Anyway, goodnight from Mexico....from the hot weather....and all the
blood, sweat, and tears from a hard week of work. We all miss our
loved ones and wish they were here with us. As always I have posted a
few of the pictures from the day.

Dormir bien.

Juanito

Hey Sirva team! What a great job you all are doing. Thanks so much for representing Riverwood church so well. "You reap what you sow" so your blessing will be mighty for all you are doing for God. I look forward to hearing all your stories of the blessings from the children. Enjoy the trip home.

Encouragement can be found in so many places. My hope and prayer is that you all wake up and find a new source of strength. A joy that you have never known, even amongst the aching muscles and tired bodies, I pray you will tap into the resources of heaven . If you truly pour out your life to those around you, you will find you are filled faster than you can pour out your life. Push through, accomplish what Sirva always accomplishes.... the seemingly impossible! From building boulder walls, to hauling in concrete endlessly, to connecting so well with children who do not even speak the same language as you. These are gifts from God! Look to Him for strength and you will find unimaginable resources!
With Prayer and Hope, Giles

And Juanito, if nothing else, I didn't climb the mountain this year! Just trying to help :)

Hola,
Como estas Sivians?
It's crazy that i'm writing this and not over there reading this with you guys. I miss all of you and am glad to hear of all the fun and hard work that has been going on. Just a shout out to my Sirva mama and papa, Vionna and Mike and my brotha from a different motha Joel, hurry back to kids club ok. and my sista from a different mista Anja, you rock. Also would the real Gringo Cowboy please stand up, i miss ya Hans, your coming next year you know that right? Hey Kirk BAAAA!! Say hi to dem goats for me eh! You moron WAL-MARTS open all nite. The Hitman Dr Brett, Love you, your hot like a jalapeno... or two. Spencer, brother, your the man. I have some advice for you: what happens in Mexico stays in Mexico, kiss as many of those ladies as you'd like. And Taylor if your reading this or wherever you are i want you to yell Bang Bang!! right now, you know your sister would. I wanted to see you guys off last week with a Bang Bang but apparently yelling that at an airport is not such a good idea. Oh well. Anyways i love guys, i'm praying for you guys and it's great to see how God has blessed this trip in so many ways and help you overcome many obsticles. But what would Sirva be without those obsticles. Juanito 5 still alive, if you see Reuben tell him i miss him as well as Moses, Cecy and Modesto and everyone of those kids, i love them so much. Stay safe and God bless guys. Adios!
